Simone Orelli is a Ph.D. student in Automatic Control, Bioengineering and Operations Research (ABRO) at the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering “Antonio Ruberti” (DIAG), Sapienza University of Rome.
He was born in September 1997. He received his M.Sc. degree with honors in Control Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in July 2025, with a thesis entitled “Nonlinear Geometric Control of Partially-Coupled Underactuated Floating Vehicles”. In October 2021, he obtained his B.Sc. degree with honors in Information Engineering, Computer Science and Statistics from Sapienza University of Rome (Latina campus).
His research activity is supervised by Prof. Antonio Franchi and focuses on Modeling and Control for Aerial Robotics. He is currently involved in the SOAR-TOUCH project and collaborates with the Robotics and Mechatronics (RAM) group at the University of Twente.
