The aim of this work is to carry out a mapping of the existing literature on “Intellectual Capital (IC)”, “Performance” and “Gender Equality” looking for the relationships between them. The main characteristic that drives performance in the s.c. knowledge-based organizations, as for example in universities, is knowledge and in particular the so-called Intellectual Capital (IC). Knowledge represents the main wealth of organizations, especially in turbulent times such as the current ones. The inclusion of knowledge and IC in the assessment of performance is not immediate also for the data problems related to its measurement.
