History

Storia della BIBDIAG - Antonio Ruberti - DIAG1969:
► The Institute of Automatics is founded by Professor Antonio Ruberti as a spin-off of the Institute of Electrical Engineering. The institute is located at Via Eudossiana 18.

► To support the institute's research and teaching activities, a specialized collection of books and journals is established. This collection forms the foundation of the library, which is also located at Via Eudossiana 18.
► All books related to the institute's fields of study (automatic control, regulation and servomechanisms, and later automatic measurements and instrumentation and electronic computers) are transferred from the Institute of Electrical Engineering to the library.
1970:
► The Institute of Automatics absorbs the CNR's Centro di Studio dei Sistemi di Controllo e Calcolo Automatici (CSSCCA), and the library acquires its bibliographic collection.
1983:
► The Institute of Automatics becomes the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering.
2001:
► The department is dedicated to Professor Antonio Ruberti.
1995:
► The library joins the SBN RMS network and contributes to the Sapienza/Regione Lazio union catalog by entering both new acquisitions and its historical collection.
1998:
► The library';s collection is further enriched by the acquisition of the private library of Professor Paolo Ercoli.
Over the years:
► The library has expanded through special funding and research grants to include publications covering a wide range of disciplinary areas of interest to the department.
► The library's current collection consists of approximately 11,000 volumes.
2007:
► With the relocation of the department to the Via Ariosto premises, the library's space and reading stations are significantly increased, and new user services are activated.
► In the same year, the new Library Regulations are approved.

2006-2011:
► As part of its institutional activities, the library organizes the "Incontri al Chiostro" series at the Via Eudossiana headquarters, featuring book presentations by professors and experts in the field.
