Martina Gregori
Martina Gregori is a Post Doc at DIAG Departments since July 2021.
After a Bachelor in Management Engineering, she gained a M.Sc. degree in Management Engineering from the Sapienza University of Rome, with a final dissertation developed during a visiting research period of 5 months in the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), University of Leeds. In her Master thesis, written under the supervision of Prof. Chris Nash, she assessed the social economic impacts associated with rail-based and bus-based modes, analysing the UK suburban context.
In 2021 She gained her PhD degree in Industrial and Management Engineering (Sapienza University of Rome, DIMA Department), with the thesis "How new technologies and disruptive business models challenge the traditional public transport: analysis and tools to support policy makers in managing future challenges".
She visited the FCFM - Universidad de Chile in 2019 for 2 semesters, as a visiting PhD student under the supervision on Prof. Leonardo J. Basso.
She has worked as a local unit member in several research projects funded by grants from firms and institutions such as ANAV-National Associatio for Road Transport and Travelers and MIUR-Ministry of Research, University and Higher Education.
She has worked as principal investigator on a project funded by Sapienza University of Rome, focusing on the long-haul intermodal competition and the role of ICT technologies development on the sector.
She is a member of the Italian Association in Management Engineering (AiIG) and the International Transport Economic Association (ITEA).
Teaching
She teaches the Course Economics of Technology and Management (6 cfu; Italian, Sapienza University of Rome). Master's degree programme in Chemical Engineering.
She teached the Lab Course of Industrial and Management Engineering (3 cfu; Italian, Sapienza University of Rome), Bachelor's degree programme in Management Engineering. Students, splitted in teams, compete in a simulated Business Game.
She is the tutor for the course Economics of Technology and Management (9 cfu; English, Sapienza University of Rome), in Master's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering.
She is the tutor for Professional Specialization Courses in Management of Local Public Transport (Italian; Sapienza University of Rome).
She has been the tutor for the course Microeconomics - in Bachelor's degree programme in Management Engineering (6cfu; Italian, Sapienza University of Rome) and for the course Economy and Management of Public Authorities - in Master's degree programme in Management Engineering (6 cfu; Italian, Sapienza University of Rome).

Her interests and research focus on transport economics:
(i) Railways performance
(ii) External impacts and social economics costs; Standard costs definition
(iii) Intermodal competition
(iv) Congestion modelling
She is also interested in the analysis of the Higher Education Systems, in particular in the HEIs institutions' performance assessment and how these evaluations are influenced by the Higher Education Systems micro- and macro- heterogeneity.
