The winter school will feature a series of talks by renowned Italian researchers in hot topics on Secure and Dependable Computing for Critical Infrastructures, from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. Topics covered by the school include specific areas such as Financial Infrastructures, Power Grid Infrastructures and Air Traffic Control Systems as well as basic methodologies including event processing, quantitative evaluation of dependability, software architectures and computational models for enanching reliability of critical infrastructures and for their protection from cyber attacks
The school will take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo located in the heart of the Dolomites in an alpine valley, it is a popular winter sport resort known for its ski-ranges, scenery, accommodations, shops and après-ski scene.
PhD students will have the opportunity to get feedback on their work and the school will dedicate time slots for that. PhD students interested in presenting their work should submit a 1-page abstract motivating the main research challenge they are addressing and stating the approach being taken. Accepted proposals will be presented by the students in a "PhD session". Additionally, project work will be assigned to groups of students that will be evaluated at the end of the course by the SDCI board of lecturers. Upon request, students that will pass the exam will be provided by the school with a certificate.
Senior researchers will have the opportunity to disseminate results on running projects on areas related to the topic of the school. Researchers interested in presenting their work should submit a 1-page abstract of their project motivating the main research challenges on the topics of the winter school and the results achieved so far (if any). Accepted proposals will be presented by the researchers in a "Networking Session".
