 ptography in a Quantum WorldAbstract: Cryptography is a success story of t
 heoretical computer science: its rigorous foundations now secure nearly ev
 ery message\, payment\, and website in our digital lives. Yet much of the 
 public-key cryptography in use today still relies on problems that a suffi
 ciently large quantum computer could solve\, and recent progress in quantu
 m computing has made this concern increasingly pressing. Lattices offer a 
 promising solution: problems based on lattices are believed to be hard eve
 n for quantum computers. Moreover\, beyond providing replacements for stan
 dard primitives\, they enable more advanced functionalities\, such as comp
 utation over encrypted data. In this talk\, I will explore how the algebra
 ic structure of lattices makes such functionalities possible\, and give an
  overview of my research on building these advanced tools on well-understo
 od foundations. I will conclude by outlining future research directions. B
 io sketch:Valerio Cini is a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Bocconi Uni
 versity. He received his PhD from TU Wien while also working at the Austri
 an Institute of Technology\, and was previously a postdoctoral researcher 
 at NTT Research. His research focuses on lattice-based cryptography\, with
  an emphasis on advanced primitives such as attribute-based encryption and
