DESCRIPTION:Abstract: This talk will present blockchain technology with a s
 pecific focus on the cryptographic tools that are used to build a blockcha
 in. Moreover\, the talk will discuss issues due to the presence of confide
 ntial data. Bio: Ivan Visconti is a full professor of Computer Science in 
 the Computer and Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics Department
  of the University of Salerno. His research interests focus mainly on desi
 gning provably secure and privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols and s
 ecuring blockchains and their applications. He has been from 2018 to 2021 
 the scientific local coordinator at the University of Salerno for the H202
 0 European project 'PRIViLEDGE' (Privacy-Enhancing Cryptography in Distrib
 uted Ledgers). Currently\, he is serving as Senior Area Editor for the IEE
 E Transactions on Information Forensics and Security journal. Several of h
