DESCRIPTION:The invited talk of Salvatore Iaconesi and Oriana Persico will 
 be delivered in the context of the 2019 European Conference on Ambient Int
 elligence (AMI 2019) that is by DIAG on 13-15 November. The European Confe
 rence on Ambient Intelligence is the prime venue for research on Ambient I
 ntelligence\, with an international and interdisciplinary character. It br
 ings together researchers and practitioners from the fields of science\, e
 ngineering\, and\, design working towards the vision of Ambient Intelligen
 ce. This year's event focus topic is “Data-driven Ambient Intelligence” th
 at follows the vision of Calm Technology\, where technology is useful but 
 does not demand our full attention or interfere with our usual behavior an
 d activities.Salvatore Iaconesi is an interaction designer\, robotics engi
 neer\, artist\, hacker. TED Fellow 2012\, Eisenhower Fellow since 2013 and
  Yale World Fellow 2014. He teaches Near Future Design and Multi Platform 
 Digital Design at ISIA Design Florence and\, in the past\, at “La Sapienza
 ” University of Rome\, at the Rome University of Fine Arts and at the IED 
 Design institute. Salvatore has founded AOS in 2004\, is President at HER 
 (previously HE)\, and co-founder at Nefula. His focus is at the intersecti
 on of Arts\, Design\, Technologies\, Sciences and Business. He creates pro
 jects that are at the same time artworks\, scientific research and busines
 s models\, addressing fundamental issues in culture\, inclusion\, human ri
 ghts\, economy and access to knowledge and education.Oriana Persico holds 
 a degree in Communication Sciences\, is an expert in participatory policie
 s and digital inclusion. She is an artist and writer. She has worked toget
 her with national governments and the European Union to the creation of be
 st practices\, standards and researches in the areas of digital rights\, s
 ocial and technological innovation\, Digital Business Ecosystems (DBE)\, p
 ractices for participation and knowledge sharing. Oriana writes critical\,
  scientific\, philosophical and poetical texts that connects to technologi
 cal innovation\, and on its cultural\, sociological\, economic and politic
 al impacts. She is an expert on the formal analysis of cultural and social
  trends\, with specific focus on social networks. She creates breakthrough
  communication campaigns\, performances\, research methodologies and strat
 egies.
